The Government of
West Bengal welcomes RTI Act 2005.This act mandate timely response to
citizen requests for Government information. Attempts have been made for
implementation of the Act in the State of West Bengal. Some major actions
undertaken are:
- Appointed State Chief Information Commissioner (SCIC)
- Arranged seminars on RTI.
- Notifications issued to designate SPIO at the department.
- RTI rules has been framed
based on RTI Act.
